CDMP Certification

This event provides a supervised environment for sitting the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)  exams. These exams are written by DAMA and administered by the Institute for the Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP). 

Prior to committing to these exams it is recommended that you purchase the CDMP Study Guide for USD $127 ($107+$20 delivery for non members of the ICCP). The Study Guide includes sample questions and answers. The Study Guide can be purchased from ICCP here.

You will also need to purchase the exams from the ICCP. Each exam costs USD $285. To purchase the exams click here.

 

For CDMP / CBIP there are three exams you need to purchase. The two mandatory exams are:

  • IS Core and
  • Data Management Core (first drop down box choose specialty exam, then second drop down box choose Data Management Core)

Plus choose one of the specialist exams:

  • Data Warehousing
  • Business Intelligence & Analytics
  • Data & Information Quality
  • Data Development
  • Data Operations (DBA)
  • Zachman Enterprise Architecture Framework
  • Integrated Project Management

Please purchase your exams prior to 2 September to allow 3 weeks for the exams to arrive in Australia. Please email a copy of your receipt to glen.bell@robinsonryan.com so Glen can co-ordinate with ICCP.

Each exam takes 90 minutes. They are multiple choice exams and you must bring a laptop (the hard drive cannot be encrypted). The format of the day is to spend an hour (9am-10am) doing practise questions and then the remainder of the day is spent sitting exams with examinees taking breaks as they require between exams.

Exam Organiser

Glen BellGlen Bell is a partner in Robinson Ryan and is head of their data management practice. He regularly teaches the Data Modelling Essentials course. He has worked on data related projects in North America, Europe, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand and throughout Australia.

Glen has a Master of Business in Information Technology (University of Technology, Sydney) and Bachelor of Science - Maths and Computing  (University of Queensland). He is the President of the Sydney chapter of the Data Management Association and is a Certified Data Management Professiona (CDMP) at mastery level.

Schedule and Catering

Registration is from 8:00am with tea and coffee available on arrival. The event runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm. There will be morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. All meal costs are included in the fee.

DAMA (Data Management Association) is a not-for-profit, vendor independent association of technical and business professionals dedicated to advancing the concepts and practices for data resource management and enterprise information. The primary purpose of DAMA is to promote the understanding, development, and practice of managing data to support business strategies.  DAMA has chapters and members throughout the world.

DAMA has been in operation for over 20 years in Australia and there are active DAMA chapters in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. DAMA offers a regular speaker programme as well as professional development workshops. It provides a forum for information management practitioners to network and exchange experiences.
